After I graduated from Zhejiang Industrial and Commerce University, I entered Kansai University through the DSI (undergraduate) program and became a graduate student of Professor Yada. Initially I chose the Professor Yada’s program because I thought that I can experience the front lines of business and acquire hands-on skills through the use of real data. However I did not know anything about this field and I had to make a real effort to prepare. Recalling my experiences now, it was certainly a challenging two years. Starting study from scratch and learning all the basic knowledge such as programming skills to analyze data, analysis skills, statistical mathematics and behavioral patterns of consumers. This required more than twice the effort of most people. However, it is because of all that effort that I am the person I am today who is prepared for anything.
Currently I work in the International Strategy Office of a cosmetic raw material manufacturer where I engage in overseas sales activities in Asia. Although it was a new experience, I think I was able to succeed steadily by making use of the skills and meticulous preparation I learnt from Professor Yada’s program. I was appointed to produce a product brochure for Chinese audiences in my first month. In the second month I was able to go to a business trip in Taiwan, where my boss surprised me by showing me how my work had presented our product to such a large number of customers.
From now on when faced with a challenge, I believe in myself to get through. With what I gained from Professor Yada’s program, I concentrate on the tasks ahead and proceed a step at a time.
